Internal Investigations - Limoncello's Free From Range

The phrase ‘free from’ has been bandied around quite a lot these days but with good reason.  The number of people suffering from intolerances is on the rise, reportedly in the last decade the cases of food allergies have doubled and the number of hospitalisations caused by severe allergic reactions has increased 7-fold*.  More of us are starting to pay attention to what we are putting in our bodies and dairy and processed products are some of the first things we can decide for ourselves whether we want to eliminate.  We’ve introduced some organic and free from products that may be worth giving a shot if you’re trying to be a bit more conscious of what you are consuming.

blog milk

Soya and Almond Milk.

Almond milk in particular is a great alternative to that of the cow’s variety as it’s so sweet.  As an added extra this means there is also no need to add the evil that is sugar if you like this in your coffee. Having tried it in the shop it’s safe to say we’re divided.  Some people take to it like a duck to water, others not so much.  It’s one that you’ll definitely have to test out for yourself (which you know we actively encourage).

Pesto

A firm favourite of some of our staff as a general rule, these organic offerings are great stirred through fresh pasta with a few shavings of parmesan.  We’ve even got a yellow pesto which is decidedly curry-ish, more in flavour than kick, and makes a interesting alternative to the standard basil pestos around.

Arrabbiata Sauce

The word literately translates as 'to become furious' and this spicy sauce is one of Italian’s favourites.

blog bread

Fresh

While freshly prepared products like bread aren’t necessarily organic any made without those preservatives that allow a loaf to last over seven days seem a bit more natural to us.  Plus they taste better as well!

Have you noticed any irritations after you eat or drink recently? If so maybe it’s time you take back control.
